PORTLAND, OR – Police arrested a man Saturday morning in North Portland for shooting at a vehicle, apparently because of the person’s race.
52-year-old Marc Schaffer is accused of firing at least two rounds from a shotgun at a passing driver on Commercial Avenue near Rosa Parks Way. No one was hurt. Schaffer followed officers’ commands to drop the shotgun, and he was arrested.
He told officers he shot at the driver, because of the person’s race. He’s charged with attempted murder, attempted assault, and bias crime.
