An election integrity plan for the 2026 general election in Florida was announced by the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida, in coordination with the Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division, announced this comprehensive strategy to oversee federal voting protections and investigate potential election fraud in voting in Florida for the 2026 midterm elections.

Key enforcement priorities for the 2026 election in Florida include:

  • Protecting Voter Rights: Ensuring that all eligible Florida voters can participate in early voting, mail-in voting, and Election Day voting free from discrimination, harassment, or unlawful coercion.
  • Voter Eligibility and Enforcement: Monitoring compliance with federal laws regarding voter registration and eligibility. Detailed information on ongoing reviews, eligibility laws, or federal penalties, available through official Department of Justice guidelines and state election authority resources.
  • Combating Election Fraud: Investigating actionable allegations of ballot harvesting, voter impersonation, or intentional disruption of polling places and mail-in ballot processing in Florida.

Florida state election officials have ensured that early in-person voting and mail-in voting are proceeding as scheduled under standard state protocols. Federal oversight will remain active throughout the early voting period to monitor for compliance with the Voting Rights Act and ensure that secure ballot drop boxes and polling locations are unhindered.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office said the public plays a critical role in maintaining election security. Anyone who witnesses or has direct knowledge of potential election fraud, voter intimidation, or unlawful voting activity is strongly encouraged to report it immediately. Visit the official FBI Tips Portal or contact local law enforcement to report potential election fraud or voting irregularities. Complaints regarding voter discrimination or civil rights violations can also be directed to the Civil Rights Division via the Department of Justice Civil Rights Reporting Portal. In the case of a crime of violence or intimidation, please call 911 immediately and before contacting federal authorities. State and local police have primary jurisdiction over polling places, and almost always have faster reaction capacity in an emergency.

“Every citizen should be free to vote without interference or discrimination and to have their vote count, without the fear that it will be stolen because of fraud,” said U.S. Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe. “Anyone who has specific information about election discrimination, interference, or fraud should make that information available to my Office, the FBI, or the Civil Rights Division.”

The initiative is part of a nationwide effort to ensure a secure, transparent, and accessible voting process. The U.S. Attorney’s Office, alongside federal law enforcement partners, is prepared to enforce federal election laws vigorously while protecting the right of every legal voter to cast their ballot without intimidation or interference. Voters can consult official Department of Justice and state portals to review federal election laws and eligibility requirements.
