A 13-year-old girl has died after being struck by a vehicle in Burlington County, New Jersey, on Friday afternoon.
According to Bordentown Township officials, the crash happened in the area of the 500 block of U.S. Route 130, near a QuickChek in Bordentown, where at least two e-scooters were seen on the ground near a crosswalk and several vehicles were stopped.
A black pickup truck with front-end damage was also spotted at the scene.

Police, firefighters and emergency medical crews provided care before the girl was airlifted to Cooper University Hospital in Camden. She died from her injuries Sunday morning.
The girl was a student at Bordentown Regional Middle School.
“It is with heavy hearts that we share the loss of a young girl from our community,” township officials wrote in the statement.
Bordentown Township officials expressed condolences to the girl’s family, friends and classmates, as well as the first responders who cared for her.
“No words can ease a loss like this,” officials wrote.
“Our entire community is heartbroken, including the first responders who cared for her. We are holding her family, friends, and classmates close in our thoughts as they grieve,” the statement continued.
Neighbor Abby Beckner said e-scooters are frequently seen along the roadway. She recalled hearing screams Friday afternoon and realizing something was wrong.
“I heard a lot of screaming. Normally, it’s just kids screaming down here on their scooters and bikes, like normal. I looked out my window and people were stopping in the middle of the intersection,” she said.
